Pistol and Rifle Training Targets

Dot Drill. 24 rounds

Pistol: Starting at the low ready position, fire 2 rounds in the top row in each circle from 3 yards. Repeat at 5 yards and then again to 7 yards. Once you are able to place all of your shots on target, introduce the timer. Start with a 6 second, 10 second, and 14 second PAR time, respectively. There is a balance between accuracy and speed so if you’re hitting every bullseye, speed it up! If you can’t get any rounds into the intended target, you’re not ready for a time limit. Push yourself but maintain safety!

Rifle: Starting from the low ready position fire 2 rounds in the top row if each paw from 5 yards. Move back to 10 or 15 yards as necessary. Do not worry about time until you can be accurate. Once you are able to place all of your shots on target, introduce the timer. There is a balance between accuracy and speed so if you’re hitting every bullseye, speed it up! If you can’t get any rounds into the intended target, you’re not ready for a time limit. Push yourself but maintain safety!
